Our California Bay Laurel Hydrosol is distilled from hand-harvested California Bay Laurel (Umbellularia californica), a tree endemic to California whose aroma is roughly five times stronger and more robust than Mediterranean bay laurel (Laurus nobilis).

Hydrosols are water-based aromatic distillates, close cousins of essential oils but far gentler. The peppery character of raw bay stays behind in the oil, leaving a dense, clean, floral water.

For aromatic and topical use only — not for internal use. Dilute as a room or linen mist, or add to unscented face wash, shampoo or lotion.

Please note: California bay laurel is sometimes called the “headache tree.” Its aroma can trigger headache or migraine in some people. Try a little first.
